Meet Weston

A neighbour.
A councillor for our community.

I am a lifelong Niagara-on-the-Lake resident with a deep appreciation for the communities that make this town extraordinary, from Old Town and Virgil to St. Davids, Glendale, Queenston, and the rural areas that are so central to Niagara-on-the-Lake’s identity.

I am running for Councillor because I believe Niagara-on-the-Lake deserves leadership that listens, plans with care, and leads with respect, always putting residents first while protecting the heritage, character, and landscape that make our town unique.

THIRD GENERATION

Rooted in this town.

Weston Miller is deeply rooted in Niagara-on-the-Lake. A born-and-raised local and third-generation resident, he grew up in town, attended Parliament Oak, and has remained deeply involved in the life of the community ever since.

That service has taken place on local boards and organizations, where I have helped support local institutions, safeguard heritage, and give residents a stronger voice in decisions that affect their neighbourhoods.

It has also given me a practical understanding of what residents are dealing with: drainage and infrastructure, growth pressures, traffic and parking, heritage administration, and the daily realities of living alongside a major visitor economy.

The decisions Council makes over the next term will matter for a long time. I am running because residents deserve a councillor who will listen closely, prepare properly, and be candid about what Council can and cannot do.

    President

    Strengthened the Association’s role as an active voice for residents, leading advocacy on planning issues, neighbourhood character, and meaningful public consultation.

  • The Niagara Foundation

    Board of Directors; Treasurer

    Provided financial oversight for major heritage preservation initiatives, including service as Treasurer during the acquisition of The Wilderness.

  • Royal Oak School

    Board of Directors

    As someone who attended Parliament Oak Public School, I know how important local schools are to community life. I strongly support access to local education for families across town.

  • Shaw Festival Shivaree

    Chair

    Reinventing this annual fundraiser to bolster Niagara’s largest cultural charity through volunteer leadership, event planning, fundraising, and sponsor engagement.

How I would serve on Council.

My experience has taught me that effective local leadership begins with listening, careful preparation, and respect for the people affected by a decision. On Council, I would bring that approach to every part of Niagara-on-the-Lake—while being candid about what I know, seeking expertise where I need it, and explaining how I vote.
